Why My Clients Love Where They Live

Why My Clients Love Where They Live
Hello !

It is hard to believe we are almost through January 2022. As 2021 was coming to a close I spent a lot of time reflecting on what I am grateful for and it kept coming back to the wonderful people I have had the fortune of surrounding myself with (that includes YOU) and all the unexpected ways that life has placed me right where I need to be. I never expected to live in Great Falls, but from day one I have loved living here. I am surrounded by beauty, both natural and man made. My favorite thing to do is walk through our tree-lined neighborhood street with my son Charlie out to the majestic Potomac shore. Our path takes us past stately homes with lush landscaping (like the cherry trees in the photo) and through the surrounding towering forest until we reach the water, all in 20 minutes time. It brings us peace and connection with nature and each other.

Clearly, I love where I live, but I am not the only one. This month I reached out to clients in the six top areas I serve - Great Falls, Arlington, Falls Church, McLean, Reston and Ashburn - to find out what they love about the place they call home.

Great Falls
I love the friendly and inclusive community. The civic organizations are welcoming and embrace new members so it is easy to participate in community activities. Even with mask mandates and Covid social distancing most people are cheerful and make an effort to greet others.

I love the Pub in the village. The staff is so friendly. They learn your name and favorite beverage and are always welcoming. It is a great place for family and friend meals; even your ‘doggie friend’ -Kristi R.

Arlington
I love that from my condo in Arlington's Ballston Quarter I can walk anywhere I need to go - Metro stops (two), the library, my gym, the post office, the grocery store, my nail salon, my massage therapist, my dry cleaner, great restaurants and parks. Those are just some of the conveniences I love! - Christina G.
Falls Church
When you walk outside, you see your neighbors and everyone is friendly, waves and smiles. People are always out walking, whether walking their dog or walking to dinner or to the farmers market. And if you have kids riding the bus, you become friendly with the parents and kids at the bus stop. With the school system being so small, you’ll be with those kids and parents for the entire school experience.

I loved that when the kids were little, we would walk to the farmers' market every Saturday morning and then visit the library books for the week. -Erica B.

McLean
We particularly love the feeling of privacy and feeling like we are in the mountains, yet only 10-15 minutes from DC.

Oh, and we also love Mylos Grill! -Bill S.
Reston
Our Reston neighbors truly show up. It really does have an old-school vibe reminiscent of simpler times where it was okay to knock on a friend’s door without advance notice.

I enjoy the proximity to nature, good restaurants, shopping, and transit. I love how booming Reston is, yet so full of nature it offers a reprieve from the city. Yet, proximity to the city is pretty darn close! - Lindsey A. & Jason A.
Ashburn/Brambleton
What I love about where I live is the community. People are so helpful and nice to each other. Since most of them have young kids, everyone realizes it takes a village to raise the kids.

The Brambleton Community Centre is amazing and has everything one needs – grocery store, salons and spa, kids activity studios, library, dog salon/store, movie theater, multi cuisine restaurants (from Thai, Asian, Mexican, American, Italian to Himalayan) and a year-long farmers market. It is truly a one-of-a-kind community center. -Parul P.
